  PRAISE NIGHT 07 REVOLUTIONARY LOVE

CLC 1

CLC 2

THIS SATERDAY FEB 10. 2007 BE THERE

Tuesday, January 30, 2007

HI ALL!

Its Vivian again! How are you guys doing? Its such a blessing to see some of you guys at 3pm every Sunday--don't give up! I know its a bit chilly outside but until the temperature warms up, we'll be meeting at First Baptist.

I just wanted to send out another reminder about the 24/7 Prayer. I know the letter attached explaining the 24/7 prayer is a bit long and tedious to read---but if you are serious about disciplining yourself to get closer to God, then I encourage you to read it. Its not just about doing what is "right" (aka- prayer) but its about building a lasting and initimate relationship with Him.

So far I've only gotten 10-12 people--and I will announce it at the Seekers Praise Night and will be anticipating a few more! SO PLEASE EMAIL ME BACK--ASK QUESTIONSS--I will gladly answer them.

Meanwhile, if I get at least 24-48 people, we will start this in the middle of Feb. and go on to the middle of April. I hope that sounds cool with y'all!

ALSO-- there is a praise night with Seekers Christian Fellowship on Feb. 10th (Saturday) at First Baptist Church from 6-9PM. Seekers from across the city will be there to praise and share--so be sure to support our brothers and sisters in High school :)

Acts Effect will also be doing some community service and outreach soon so keep your eyes open to our xanga and email!

Well--thats it for now Lovelies--I'll keep y'all updated!

Sincerely,
Viviannnnnnnnnnn SHibata.

**********************************************************************

Come and join me...this isn't a cool revolution of any sort--but it is relevant...please please read!! I know its long...forgive me. I like to ramble and stuff.

One thing I ask of the LORD,
       this is what I seek:

       that I may dwell in the house of the LORD                     Psalm   2 7 : 4
       all the days of my life,                                                                     4
       to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD                                                /
       and to seek him in his temple.                                                              7

Goal:
    "to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek Him in His temple" through daily encounters with Him. God is beautiful and glorious beyond compare—if we gaze upon His beauty, we will not only see how great our Maker is, but also how much He loves us. Perhaps we'll become like Moses and glow from being in God's presence! When we seek God, we will learn who He is and His heart's desire for our lives. He said that if we seek Him, we would find Him. As much as we want to say that this is not about us (I call that false humility!!) it has everything to do with us because it is about a relationship.

Why should I do it?:

+++1         Luke 18
 Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. He said: "In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men. And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, 'Grant me justice against my adversary.'
"For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, 'Even though I don't fear God or care about men, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won't eventually wear me out with her coming!' "
And the Lord said, "Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?"

God will bring justice and answers to our holy cries. He will make the wrong right and He will do it through revival. Revival is not just great music and dancing—it is God fighting against evil and injustice by turning people's hearts back to Him.

+++2       Luke 2:36-38
There was also a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old; she had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage, and then was a widow until she was eighty-four. She never left the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying. Coming up to them (Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus that is) at that very moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem.
The prophetess Anna prayed and fasted for 77 years and was the first to recognize Jesus as they were walking in the marketplace. She was also the first evangelist in the bible.
If we devote ourselves to this, we will recognize Jesus for who He is. How many of us can say that we will recognize Him when He returns one day? I know I can't—and by seeking God daily I believe I will learn so much about Him that I will know Him when He is here.

+++3
Imagine a bridegroom walked up to his bride and gave her book and said: "here is a book I wrote for you about me so we'll never have to speak again."
It says in the bible that we are the brides of Christ (calm down men, it doesn't emasculate you). God did not give us the bible so we can just read it and know Him—He wants to speak to us through it so we can learn about our bridegroom. This is about an intimate relationship between the Creator and the Creation.

+++4
UNITY within the body of Christ. When we tune into what God is saying to each of us, God's people will come together because each of our stories loom into a greater story that God is unveiling through each of us. There will be accountability.

+++5
It is recorded in Christian history that every time there is a 24/7 intercessory prayer movement, there is also revival and justic.  (Google if you're interested:)
             - Seoul, Korea//1960s-present: under the leadership of David Yongsi Cho, night and day prayer has been going on for over 30 years and because of that, Korea is sending out thousans of missionaries to touch upon Asia
             - Jerusalem//1000 BC: King David and King Solomon financed full time singers and musicians for night and day prayer
             - Herrnhut, Germany//1727 AD: Count Zinzendorf started a night and day intercession that lasted 120 years--it caused a missionary zeal in europe and beyond.

---and counting.

Lets get to the fun part….HOW?

This 24/7 intercession requires commitment. (I can already see people turning away? COME BACK!!)
•    To set aside 30-60 minutes every day to come into His presence to seek His face
•    To do this everyday for 3 months
•    To be accountable for the people praying before and after you by calling them to remind them of their time and also praying for their personal request—do not be afraid to talk!
•    To find a quiet place to worship (you can use your iPod, live instruments etc)
•    To read scripture while interceding, worshipping or doing devotionals
•    Each of us can pray for individual prayer requests and general prayers. I will try my best to send out an email off prayers every week for the whole group to pray about.

NO ONE is limited to a structured way of doing this. If you find yourself enjoying God's presence in a different setting, go ahead and do so. These are just suggested guidelines. The only definite thing is seeking His face daily.

THIS DOES NOT exempt us from praying the rest of the day. Through this daily discipline, our hearts will learn to pray every moment—so if you pray with your family, church, or before meals—please continue to do so. ?
NOT EVERYONE can and is called to do this. This is undoubtedly a difficult task—but how much more is God seeking US? If God did not love us so much…if God did not want to be with us so much, He would not have sent Jesus down to die for us—and He would not have told us He is coming back for us. This task will discipline us to seek Him every day—and from what I hear, the reward is greater than the effort.

Now after hearing all this, I hope and pray you will join me in this. I know I will have a hard time doing this (I naturally suck at doing devotionals and quiet times) —but that's why we have the body of Christ to support us. More than ever, God has placed an urgency in my heart to seek Him and to know who He is. Recently, I had a rude awakening during a conference—I really don't know Jesus as I should. I have no idea what His face looks like (not literally—spiritually) and because of the distance between God and I, I have no idea what He has for my life. I don't know my Maker.
I urge you to put down your worries of what you cannot do and let God take care of that. I urge you to refill the oil in your lamp before you run dry through other ministries and serving. If we seek Him first, everything else in our lives will be given to us.

At the end of the 3 months, we will gather together as a group to share and have a time of worship. During that time, we'll share what we learned about Him and I believe something tremendous will happen.

If you feel led to join me, please email me at Acts3.1@gmail.com
Please copy and paste and fill out the following in the email.

Full Name:
Intercession Session (time):
Phone number:

At least 24-48 people are needed to do this and I believe God will lead more than enough people to do this.
I don't care who you are, where you're from, what you did (this is starting to sound like a Backstreet Boys song…), and what history you share with anybody or me—I want to you disregard ALL that and just look to God. Find out if this is what you can commit to.

I know it sounds harsh--but if this was easy, it would not be rewarding. Besides, I made a promise to myself that I wouldn't be nice to people any more--I'd love people and that requires TOUGH LOVE. Yeah.

Anyway--
pray about it--and I look forward to your replies. (questions, comments, criticisms--please do reply) Forwarding is highly encouraged :)

In Christ,
Vivian Shibata

However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?"
